Religious
Education And Collective Worship
Each
day contains a collective act of worship for all pupils. Whilst
this act of worship is of a mainly Christian character we do
take into account the teaching and practises of other religions.
Acknowledging our church school status, assemblies are often led
by the minister of The Holy Ascension and also the minister of
the United Reform Church. Children experience the act of worship
in church once a term.
Infants
and Juniors hold a separate assembly in order to facilitate
their respective needs. The whole school gathers together once a
week to share their work and experiences with their peers. This
assembly may be either infant led or junior led.
Each
class teacher is responsible for R. E. lessons. The children
study many aspects of Christianity as well other world religions
throughout the course of the year.
We
respect the rights of the parents wishes when, for any reason,
they wish to withdraw their child from assemblies or R. E.
lessons.
