Music

The children will study elements of music, rhythm, pitch, dynamics and timbre as well as studying music from other times and cultures. They will experience simple composing and perform their own pieces in front of an audience. The school has a very rich musical tradition and all children are encouraged to take part in musical experiences either through assemblies or during class plays. The school has an excellent and high achieving school choir which all children are invited to join. The choir is often in demand by the community to perform publicly. On an individual basis the school provides the opportunity, through visiting tutors, for children to have private lessons on a number of instruments such as violin and clarinet.
