Literacy
Both
infants and Junior departments follow the D.F.E.S.'s National
Literacy Strategy. Great emphasis is placed upon the Acquisition
of fluent reading skills. Children are also encouraged to select
library books and class fiction. Spelling rules, handwriting
practice, comprehension and grammar are a regular feature each
week. Extended story writing, descriptions, poems and letter
writing are on-going tasks where appropriate within key stages.
